First off, a large number of activities are geared towards the young generation, and second; many seniors cannot participate in activities that involve moving around because of their health issues and limited mobility. However, a movie night is something that every senior would love and enjoy.

So, get some popcorn and any of the following movies to spend some quality time with the senior members of your family, or if you are away, get them these movies to make sure they do not get bored in your absence.

·        Driving Miss Daisy

Driving Miss Daisy is an old American film adapted from a play. This comedy drama film was released in 1989 and it revolves around a 65 year old, Jewish widow who wants to remain independent after her retirement. After she crashed her car, her son arranges a driver. How a relationship develops between them and how Mr. Hoke (the driver) takes care of Miss Daisy despite her rude behaviour is perfectly portrayed in the film.

·        Grumpy Old Men

Grumpy Old Men is the story of two neighbours, who have always been each other’s enemies. The enmity rises when a beautiful lady comes to live in the same neighbourhood. However, when one of them gets into trouble, the other steps in to help him and the bond between them gets stronger with time. The film was released in 1993 and stars Jack Lemmon, Walter Matthau and Ann Margret.

·        The Bucket List

The Bucket List is a 2008 comedy-adventure about two ill men, one a billionaire and the other a car mechanic, who escape from the cancer ward to embark on a road journey for completing their wish list before they die.

·        Nebraska

Nebraska is a 2013 black and white road movie about a father and son. The father is a dementia patient who receives a scam letter that he has won a million dollar prize. He believes in that and wants to go to Nebraska to collect the prize money. After the father makes several attempts to go to Nebraska, the son decides to accompany him.

·        Amour

Amour is a French romantic movie that showcases the strong bond and love between an old, retired couple. It displays how the husband takes care of her wife when she faces serious health issues due to a stroke, keeping his own problems and discomforts aside. The film won several awards, including the Oscar for best foreign language film of the year in 2013.

·        Last Vegas

A 2013 American comedy, Last Vegas is about a group of elderly, who have been friends since childhood. When one of them, still a bachelor, decides to get married and proposes his girlfriend, they all went to Las Vegas for the bachelor party.

·        To Dance with the white Dog

To Dance with the white dog is a touching movie that shows how a husband (Sam) tries to deal and overcome his grief after the sudden death of his beloved wife. A white dog suddenly appears and starts coming to him and became his new companion.
